Our Class Teacher is Mr Nicholson and our

ETA is Mrs Firth

I would like to wish both children and parents/carers a warm welcome to our

class page. Please use this page to check up on all of the exciting learning we

are getting up to. We have an exciting Spring Term planned, Mrs Firth and I

simply can't wait to get started.

In Hazel 5, we believe that learning is magical. We have promised to become

the best version of ourselves by following our core values of Justice, Peace,

Compassion, Friendship and Endurance. We believe that if we encompass these

skills we can achieve anything.

Hazel 5 Weekly Learning Week Commencing  25/02/19

In Maths this week we will be beginning by refreshing our memories on a number of processes including rounding, fractions, decimals and percentages and prime numbers and prime factors.

In English this week, we will be exploring explanation texts. Pupils will be exposed to a range of different explanation texts to extract linguistic features and analyse grammatical structures. This will hugely help pupils form a good understanding of the purpose of explanation texts and form a good understanding of how to write them.

Key Information_______________________________________

As a school we operate an open door policy on a Wednesday after school, if you need to talk to me please drop in. If you wish to speak with me outside of this period then please do not hesitate to contact the school office and I will endeavour to return your call.

Our P.E day is Monday and Wednesday so please ensure your child has a suitable P.E kit in school on this day (a white t-shirt and black shorts).

All children will need their swimming kit on a Friday. Homework is handed out on a Friday and must be returned by the following Wednesday. Each week the children will receive a piece of English and Maths homework. Weekly spellings will be handed out on a Friday. Please encourage your child to learn the different spelling patterns by practising them regularly, ready for the spelling test on the following Friday. (Each spelling pattern will be taught over the course of two weeks)

Pupils are also expected to read three times per week, logs are due in every Monday to be checked.
